THE GRANDCHILDREN ACROSS THE STREET

I just returned from a visit with my daughter and her family. They live in Missouri.

It was a fun week and I enjoyed being in their home.

I was taking some things out to put into the car when a little boy from across the street rolled up next to me. He had been riding his bike down the street.

He said, Hi, who are you?

I am Michael and Lauren's Grandmother, I said.

Oh, was his reply.

Then he thought a second and said....

Well, who were you before then????

I had to laugh as I thought about that question!

SOMEONE ELSES GRANDCHILDREN

I was in a grocery store yesterday and heard this conversation between two little girls around the age of 4 years old.

They were sitting in their separate baskets while their Mother's were looking at the soup section.

As I also looked at the soup, I heard one little girl say to the other.

Hi, my name is Kala.

The other little girl looked up and said, in a surprised voice.

Your name can't be Kala!

Oh yes it can said the other little girl!

Oh no it can't replied the other little girl.

I was getting ready for a cat fight between 4 year old girls when I heard the little girl say.

Your name can't be Kala because that is my name! My Mom said it was just for me! You gotta pick another name.

CALEB SPEAKS

My daughter said that Caleb ( 3 1/2) climbed in bed with her one morning.

She kept her eyes closed so that he would think that she was asleep.

Caleb took his hand and pulled her eyelids open and said;

Mom, are you in there?????

A MOTHER SPEAKS

I always tried to hold my children close...with open hands.......

They are all grown up now and live away. Too far away but they remind me that I have great places to visit in Missouri, Southern California and Ohio.

I miss them so much but remember the open hands promise that I made to them.

They were home for chrisatmas and we had a fun time remembering.

I heard a lullabye last night and it made me cry a little.

I will share it with you.

CALEB SPEAKS

Caleb will be 4 years old in February.

He is a wonderful little boy who is caring and sensitive. He can also hold his own while playing with his brothers!

While he was here for Christmas, he went to the bathroom with his mother. When he finished his business, he noticed a little angel on the floor. I had put a book of Christmas beside it but someone had tasken the book away.

The little angel was sitting on the floor alone and Caleb said to his Mother...

Oh Mom, the little angel is all alone!!!!!

He picked up the angel and took it into the hall and placed it by a Christmas bear.

He looked and his Mom and said, there...it is not alone any more!
